Rizal youth cultivate and display creativity in dish gardening

Rizal, Kalinga – Members of the Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terrorismo in Rizal displayed creativity in a dish landscape gardening or gardening in a shallow dish or container contest this July 30, 2021, as part of the 26th Police Community Relation’s Month celebration.

Declared winner is KKDAT- Calaocan that received P3,000 as cash prize, followed by KKDAT- Romualdez with P2,500, and KKDAT- Babalag East that won third place with P2,000 as cash prize.

In an interview with Calaocan Sangguniang Kabataan Chairman, Eric Bad-ay, he said that they have been preparing their dish garden for a week.

“Stability, formation, ken plants variation lang iti masapul tapnu maalam diay tumataginting na tagumpay,” he said relating that after they planted the plants into the bowl, they used stones to stabilize the container so the soil won’t erode once they water the plants.

Bad-ay said that the event is significant on the part of the youth, saying it is a way to keep them occupied and maximize their time.

It should be noted that said event is among the programs to get the youth involved in community activities to divert their attention from bad influences while cultivating creativity, especially during the pandemic where the movement of the people, particularly the youth, is still limited.

Meantime, Rizal SK Federation President Jolan Jambaro expressed gratitude for the opportunities given to the youth to be part of activities in the community saying, “kasta unay a pagyamanan mi ta ik-ikkan yu dakami iti partes dagiti aktibidades tayo tapnu iti kasta ket mai-yadayu kami a kabataan iti madi aga aramid ken pakadadaelan iti future mi a kabataan.”

The event was graced by PLTCOL Richard Gadingan, Chief PCADU of Kalinga Police Provincial Office,the Rizal police led by PCPT George Acob, Rizal LGU headed by Mayor Karl Baac, Vice Mayor Samuel Valdez, and the different stakeholders.
