Robbery tops index crime in Kalinga for 2022 1st quarter



Tabuk City, Kalinga – Robbery topped Kalinga’s index crime this first quarter of 2022 - this is based on the data of the Kalinga Police Provincial Office.


In said report, robbery increased with 10 incidents documented from January to March 2022. The record is eight incidents higher compared to the same period last year.

Next to robbery is theft, with five additional cases recorded, which is three incidents higher compared to the first quarter in 2021.


The police have documented five rape cases during the first quarter, which is lower by two incidents compared to the first quarter last year.


The data of KPPO also revealed that there are four motorcycle carnapping incidents; two murder cases; and one physical injury that transpired this 2022 first quarter.


Non-index Crime


As for the violations of Special Laws, there are 31 cases recorded, which is three incidents lower when compared to the first quarter in 2021.


Additionally, there were 17 other non-index crimes that were documented this first quarter of 2022. This is the same as the number of incidents recorded in the same period last year.


Vehicular Traffic Incidents


Cases of vehicular traffic incidents in Kalinga have increased by seven cases, with the 28 incidents reported from January to March this year.


Of the 28, eight resulted in homicide; 17 resulted in physical injuries, and three cases have resulted in damage to property.
