Tabuk City Taekwondo kids collect 21 medals in national championship

Tabuk City, Kalinga – 21 medals from the 3rd National Taekwondo Championship were collected by grade schoolers from Tabuk City, Kalinga.

 

These young athletes under the Tabuk City Taekwondo Dynasty faced fighters from the Cordillera region, Cebu, Manila, La Union, Pangasinan, and Ilocos on May 31 at the Benguet Sports Complex in La Trinidad.


The 3rd National Taekwondo Championship hosted by the Samahang Taekwondo Ng Pilipinas aimed to bring players across the country to showcase and hone their skills in a highly competitive and friendly atmosphere.

 

Representing Tabuk City, the 15 young athletes who were coached by MJ Alcedo and John Lardizabal clinched 21 medals in Kyurogi and Poomsae – 9 of them are gold medals, 4 are silver, and 8 are bronze.

 

Alcedo mentioned that among their preparations for the event included rigorous training during the whole summer to condition the players for the competition.
