Former Tabuk Councilor Miguel Buslig Jr. conferred posthumous award

Tabuk City, Kalinga― In recognition to his outstanding and dedicated service, a posthumous award was recently given to the late Miguel Buslig Jr. a former Sangguniang Bayan member of Tabuk, Kalinga.


Members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod presided by Vice Mayor Bernard Glenn Dao-As has approved Resolution No. 92 granting said posthumous award during their regular session on May 27.

According to the Office of the Vice Mayor, Miguel Buslig Jr. served as a Sangguniang Bayan Member of Tabuk from 1995 to 2001.


He was a market administrator of Tabuk before becoming a municipal councilor.


The SP cited that during his stint, the late Miguel Buslig, Jr. has conspicuously exemplified exceptional and dedicated public service while keeping an unblemished reputation as a regular member of the local legislature.



Buslig was an active member of the then Sangguniang Bayan who helped facilitate the successful enactment of effective and relevant local laws that immensely contributed to the achievement of the various community developmental programs activities.


It can be recalled that former councilor Buslig ran for Vice Mayor in 1988 as a running mate of Rommel Diasen.


The resolution also provides that a PhP10,000 worth of financial assistance will be granted to the heirs of the late Miguel Buslig, Jr. as an expression of condolence to the bereaved family and as a token of gratitude for the services rendered by the late councilor.


Miguel Buslig Jr. passed away on May 26 at the age of 70. He was sent to his final resting place today, May 31, at the Balong Cemetery.
