Tanudan, Kalinga―The Local Government of Tanudan under the leadership of Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag commits support to the request of lot donation for the Tabuk District Jail, for the construction of its detention facility that will house persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) in the municipality.

This is following the discussion between the officials of the local government unit represented by Administrator Atty. Antonio Basungit and Tabuk District Jail headed by INSP Fred Payap-a under the guidance of the DJW SINSP John Wayland Lapon on their request for lot donation held today, June 02, at Seet, Mabaca.

Mayor Dagadag states that the establishment of the detention facility will be a big contribution to the welfare and development programs for PDL in the locality.

“Dakkel tulong na dayta, it is a sign of progress and development,” he expressed.

“In fact, the BJMP will also educate and train PDL and Child in conflict with the law (CICL) for their kabuhayan and part of their transformation, in case they will be released from detention,” Dagadag added.

The proposed 2,000 sqm lot area is the counterpart of LGU- Tanudan for the establishment of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) which shall be situated at Sitio Banagao, Barangay Poblacion, just beside the lot where the Bureau of Fire Protection building will be established.

Funds for the building shall come from the national government.

Meantime, personnel from the BJMP and Municipal Assessors Officers have conducted a site ocular inspection of the proposed lot to be donated.

The Sangguniang Bayan will be crafting a resolution to authorize Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag to enter into Memorandum of Agreement with BJMP for the realization of said project.
