Tanudan LGU ambulance vehicles ready for emergencies

Updated: Feb 20, 2021

Tanudan, Kalinga―With the additional ambulance vehicles giving better access to medical assistance, Mayor Jaedicke Dagadag informs yTanudans not to be hesitant when asking their office for transport during emergencies, especially in taking the sick or injured people to referred hospitals.

In an interview with John Ryan Awingan, Mayor Jaedicke Dagadag’s Executive Assistant, he said that constituents should not think twice if they need the ambulance even if the referred hospital may be in Manila or Baguio City.

“Nu emergency nga kailangan ti ambulance ket automatic nga wen kunan ni Mayor, uray nu haan nga taga Tanudan ket iaccommodate na nu mapan agpatulong diay tao,” he said.

“Ti kayat ni Mayor tayo ket maagasan dagiti saksakiten tayo ta usual gamin nga problema idi ket maysa lang ti available nga ambulance tayu isunga haan tayu maaccomodate amin idi, tattan ket adan ti duwa nga katulungan tayu nga pangiluganan kanya da,” he added.

Furthermore, he explained that based on the guidelines, if the referral is within the province or in Tuguegarao City, the Municipal Local Government Unit (MLGU) will shoulder the vehicle’s fuel but if it is in Baguio City or Manila, the patient’s family will pay for the fuel going back home.

Awingan said that families are discouraged in giving any amount to the drivers. He added that they should use the money for their own expenses instead as the drivers are compensated and that serving yTanudans is part of their job.

Recently, netizens posted their gratitude to the MLGU Tanudan through Mayor Dagadag for responding to their call in picking up bags of blood for their patient despite that they are not from Tanudan.

Currently, Municipal Government of Tanudan has acquired 4 ambulance vehicles, one from Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), 1 from Department of Health (DOH), and two from the municipal government.
