Tanudan LGU provides food aid to 130 yTanudan families affected by the lockdown in Itogon, Benguet

Tanudan, Kalinga―Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tanudan led by Mayor Jaedicke Dagadag distributed rice subsidy this November 11, 2020 to over 130 YTanudan families working as miners in Itogon, Benguet while some areas remain under lockdown following hundreds of individuals contracting the virus.

The immediate move of Tanudan LGU was a response to a Facebook post showing a group of individuals who hail from Kalinga and currently residing in Itogon for work was asking for assistance. The cry for help was due to the effect of lockdown caused by the surge of COVID-19 positive cases which affected not only their health and living conditions but their very survival.

Upon knowing the situation of his constituents, Mayor Jaedicke Dagadag immediately coordinated with the officials in Itogon and purchased rice to be given to the Ytanudan families in Itogon.

“Basta ang puso at isipan ay para sa lahat ng mga nangangailangang kababayan, kahit hindi taga Tanudan yan, tutulungan mas lalo na yung mga needy talaga. Dapat sapasap ah ti tulong ti kailyan ta agkailangan da garud ti tulong,” he uttered.

Dagadag also traveled to Itogon and personally handed over the rice subsidy to families in Barangays Baguio Gold, Tuding, Loakan, Ucab, Virac Poblacion, and Sangilo in the said municipality.

Meanwhile, Tinglayan Mayor Sacrament Gumilab also delivered rice subsidy to his constituents who are also working as miners. Over 234 families received the said subsidy residing in 9 different puroks in Itogon.
