Tanudan, Kalinga–A total of 11 beneficiaries were given free wheelchair as part of the intiative of Tanudan Mayor Jaedicke Dagadag to provide assistance to persons with disabilities in the municipality.

Earlier, Mayor Jaedicke Dagadag narrated that the money used in the purchase of the wheelchairs was from his monthly salary amounting to PhP11, 000 which he utilizes to buy at least 2 to 3 units of wheelchair.

It may not be much he said but it came from his heart, saying the prject needs to be sustained until all PWDs needing a wheelchair are provided with it.

Other units purchased were from the donation of some private individuals.

With his aim to cater all PWDs, Mayor Dagadag calls on the families of PWDs to reach their office for a request for them to be identified.

"Lahat ng PWD's sa tanudan ay dapat mabigyan..Sana lahat ng may PWD's sa family nila ay magrequest sila sa amin para alam namin kung sinu sino ang mga nangangailangan," he said.

He added that the wheelchair is intended to those recipients who are in need so they can move freely on their own and at least be engaged to both indoor and outdoor environment.

Recently, another private individual handed over PhP10,000 as his support to the program of the mayor and to further extend the project’s goal to provide their needs.

Meantime, 2 units of wheelchair is scheduled to be distributed to identified PWDs this January.
