Tanudan, Kalinga―A speed-up transport of produce to the marketplace is expected with the completion of the 422-meter Sitio Darulog, Barangay Dupligan farm-to-market road in Tanudan.

Implemented with P6.6-M fund, the agricultural road traverses around 709 hectares of farmlands connecting the sitios of Darulog, Allubaggan, Cogawe, and Banneng.

The construction started in March 2021 and the said road was made accessible this July.

Under his administration, Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag earnestly worked out the allocation of funds for the improvement and upgrading of the municipal road networks.

Said fund for road concreting was granted through the Local Government Support Fund -Assistance to municipalities in 2020 under the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Looking back 30 years ago, the municipal road connecting the sitios Darulog, Allubaggan, Cogawe, and Banneng was opened during the administration of the mayor’s father, former Mayor Rhustom Dagadag, Sr., but remained a dirt road, making it difficult for motorists to traverse specially during the rainy season.

In 2019, Mayor Dagadag, from his own pocket, gave more than PhP5 million for the road clearing and widening of the 1.7-kilometer municipal road.

Mayor Dagadag related how the motorists and travelers endure the difficult and rough terrains, specially in transporting their produce from their place to neighboring trading centers.

Thus, the improvement of said road into an all-weather road would eventually provide comfort and ease among commuters from the locality, specially for regular travellers like the students, workers, and corn and root crops farmers transporting their products to the market.
