Tanudan’s Kape Festival celebrated after 3-year suspension

Tanudan, Kalinga – After three years, the yTanudans were able to gather again to celebrate their founding anniversary and Kape Festival on June 23 at the Mabaca Elementary School.


This year’s three-day celebration marked the 8th year of Kape Festival and the 59th Founding Anniversary of Tanudan.


During the opening program, Governor-elect James Edubba, a fan of the Tanudan coffee, assured his support to the municipality.

Department of Trade and Industry Provincial Director Rene Ramos, meantime, conveyed that the DTI will help even more to strengthen the coffee industry in Tanudan especially that the municipality’s coffee was a 5th placer during a national competition in 2019.


“We will work together tapnu mapapigsa pay daytoy coffee industry ken daduma pay nga industry nga mabalin nga i-promote tayo iti ili tayo nga Tanudan,” he said.


In the afternoon, farmers battled in a coffee processing and competition.


The entries were judged on the same day.

Moreover, the constituents displayed their agility in catching piglets during the celebration.


The first day of the 8th Kape Festival concluded with the cultural performances of different barangays competing for the best cultural dance act.


Winners of the coffee cooking contest and the cultural dance will be awarded on the last day, June 25, 2022.
