Theft tops Kalinga index crime in March 2023

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Theft was the most reported crime committed against a person and property in Kalinga in March this year, according to data from Kalinga police.

From March 1 – 31, 2023, a total of 35 crime incidents were recorded by the police authorities in the province. This is higher by 16.17% or by 5 incidents compared to the ones documented for the same period in 2022.


Eleven of the 35 are index crimes or crimes committed against a person and property. Of the figure, theft is the highest with 4 cases.

Next to theft is murder with 3 incidents; and one case each for homicide, physical injury, rape, and robbery.


The data likewise revealed that 7 of these index crimes were committed in Tabuk City; 2 happened in Tinglayan; and one each in Pasil and Tanudan.


Kalinga Police Information Officer, PCapt. Ruff Manganip conveyed that the police in the province will continue to sustain police visibility and police patrolling, particularly in crime-prone areas to prevent and control the increase of criminal activities.
