Tinglayan, Kalinga – 184 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries got to experience today, June 8, 2021, the use of Point of Scale (POS) kits in withdrawing their grants through the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

POS kits just like an automated teller machine (ATM) could be used by individuals in determining the amount of money left in their account, but could not provide cash just like the latter could do.

Social Welfare and Development (SWAD) -Kalinga have partnered with Treasure Link Cooperative Society (TLCS) in the provision of cash to the beneficiaries.

“Kasla ATM met lang suna. Adda ti maysa nga staff from TLCS nga aghandle tapos ited diay beneficiary diay ATM card na tapos i-type da diay pin and afterwards agiruwar diay machine iti 2 receipts, one which is signed by the beneficiary is kept by TLCS and the other receipt ket kukwa diay beneficiary,” Tinglayan Municipal Information Officer Larae Lactao said.

Another staff, she added, is in charge of releasing cash the beneficiary wishes to withdraw. TCLS will then get P35.00 as service charge from the beneficiaries.

The scheme, according to SWAD- Kalinga Office was decided to avoid the flocking of beneficiaries lining up at the Landbank to get their money, and would also save money and time in going to Tabuk City just to withdraw.

Said scheme is to be done in the municipalities of Tinglayan, Balbalan and Pinukpuk.

“Tapnu haan da nga agflock a mapan alan kwarta da idiay Landbank, haan dan agtravel tapnu maiwasan Covid,” a SWAD personnel said in an interview.

Tinglayan has 728 4Ps beneficiaries but only 184 availed of the service as others have already got their grants from the Landbank Automated Teller Machines.
