Tinglayan, Kalinga – For four consecutive quarters, the Municipal Local Government Unit of Tinglayan has been ‘Fully Compliant’ with the Full Disclosure Policy (FDP), a manifestation of the municipality’s commitment to transparency and good governance.

FDP, as defined by the DILG, is the policy that requires full disclosure of particular financial transactions of the local government to update the public about how government funds are being managed, disbursed, and used. The said policy aims to help minimize corruption and misuse of public funds; increase people’s awareness; and promote honest, transparent, and orderly management of budget.

Mayor Charles Abay, in a statement, conveyed that, at present, the Tinglayan LGU does not only post financial documents in conspicuous places to comply with the FDP, but they do it to keep the iTinglayans informed of where their taxes, which come from their hard-earned money, go.

“Karapatan dagiti umili tayo nga maamwan nu mapmapanan iti taxes da ta dagita met nga tax nga maal-ala kanyada ket nagrigrigatan da dagita. Isu nga committed iti LGU Tinglayan nga mang-disclose kadagitoy nga financial documents to keep our people informed of how we managed public funds,” Abay expressed.

The mayor added that his administration will make sure full that the LGU will continue to adhere to the DILG’s requirements on Full Disclosure Policy.
