Tinglayan’s Sleeping Beauty, Buscalan Village to be featured in Kalinga Tourism promotional video

Tinglayan, Kalinga – Four tourism sites in Tinglayan will be featured for this year’s provincial tourism marketing and promotion video.

This was relayed by Larae Lactao of the Municipal Tourism Office of Tinglayan on Thursday, Oct. 19.

The creation of the tourism and culture advertisement video is in line with the mandate of Executive Order No. 138 that requires LGUs to promote and develop tourism, even making it a prerequisite under the Seal of Good Local Governance.

Said reason prompted the provincial local government unit to allocate P500,000 for the completion of the project, which would showcase the province's rich cultural heritage along with breath-taking tourism sites found in the eight localities in the province.

The tourism office, whose goal is to produce a ‘high-quality and culture-based tourism marketing and tourism video’, even collaborated with a Manila-based media production company in the making of the video.

For Tinglayan, the famed Sleeping Beauty, the Macli-ing Dulag Art Piece, the Buscalan Tattoo Village, and the Loccong glamping site were chosen to be highlighted in said project.

The ‘Sleeping Beauty’ mountain is known for its shape that resembles a sleeping woman, while Buscalan is known throughout the world as the home of the country’s ‘oldest mambabatok’.

The art piece, meantime, is a special marker found in the roadside of Barangay Bugnay, built in honor of the heroism of Macliing Dulag and all who resisted the Chico Dam projects, while the glamping site is a newly-established site in the municipality perfect for camping.

In an interview with PIA-Kalinga, Provincial Tourism Officer Lorraine Ngao-i said the video, once done, reviewed, and critiqued, will be submitted to the provincial legislative body for adoption.
