VM League of the Philippines – Kalinga Chapter elects Tabuk City VM Bal-o as President

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The vice mayors across the municipalities and city in Kalinga recently convened and elected its new set of officers who will lead them in attaining their mandate to deliver efficient and effective local legislation.


These vice mayors in the province gathered at the DILG Kalinga Provincial Office in Bulanao on August 14, 2025 to elect the officers of the Vice Mayors’ League of the Philippines (VMLP)-Kalinga Chapter.


The VMLP is mandated to collaborate with the national, local and international agencies and organizations for ‘efficient and effective local legislation’. They are also tasked to develop programs to enhance capabilities of local legislative bodies, encourage people’s participation, coordinate and collaborate with other leagues, and assist in the creation and implementation of programs and projects of the national government.


Officiated by DILG Kalinga Provincial Director Anthony Ballug, the body elected Tabuk City VM Dick Bal-o as the president; Pinukpuk VM Shirlynne Dasayon-Alunday as the Vice President; Tanudan VM Antonio Basungit Jr. as the Secretary-General; Pasil VM Venancio Magangat as Treasurer; Tinglayan VM Alexander Malasi as Auditor; and Rizal VM Ronald Echalar as the Public Relations Officer. Moreover, Balbalan VM Regina Munda Cruz and Lubuagan VM Oliver Dickly were chosen as the Board of Directors.


The event wrapped up with the new set of VMLP-Kalinga Chapter officers reciting the Vice Mayor’s Creed which affirms their commitment to good governance.


DILG Kalinga, meantime, conveyed that the newly-elected officers are expected to uphold and initiate programs and legislation that benefit the iKalingas.
