Are you a member of Tabuk Multipurpose Cooperative who registered before December 31, 2020? Here are what you are going to do during the referendum and consent resolution happening on March 7 – 21, 2021.

This referendum and consent resolution is an alternative to general assembly due to the threat of Covid-19. Its purpose is to get the decision from the members on whether they want TAMPCO to renew and operate for the next 50 years since its term of existence expires this October 21, 2021.

Additionally, it will get the decision on whether they want the cooperative to increase the authorized shared capitalization to P8 billion and if they want to authorize the board of directors to approve necessary documents needed for 2021 normal operation of TAMPCO on behalf of the General assembly.

What to do?

TAMPCO Committee members assigned in every cluster or group of barangays will be going to barangays where the voting shall be conducted.

Before the members can vote, they shall be oriented and minimum health protocols shall be observed. To vote, members should bring their TAMPCO ID card with them. Proxy is not allowed.

During the referendum and consent resolution, there are 4 folders to be filled out and signed by a member: 2 copies for the referendum and 2 for the consent resolution.

There are three questions on the referendum, and these are as follows:

1. Do you want to extend the term of existence of TAMPCO to CDA for another 50 years?

2. Do you want to increase the authorized share capitalization of the cooperative to P8 billion?

3. Do you want to authorize the board of directors to approve all necessary documents needed for 2021 normal operation of TAMPCO on behalf of the General Assembly?

The members will have to check the ‘yes’ box if they agree and ‘no’ if they do not. For the consent resolution, it will be the members who will give their consent on the 3 matters above. Meanwhile, two thirds of the 34,000 members of TAMPCO must say yes.

Further, members who will participate in the referendum and consent resolution this year will receive P1,000 cash assistance, not meal allowance. Chief Executive Officer Claudio Bagano explained the cash allowance is P1,000, not P1,500 because the P500 was utilized for fuel, kits, and other incidental expenses for the month-long referendum and consent resolution.
