Win up to P200,000! Join ‘Cordillera Experience Travel Vlog Competition’

Baguio City, Philippines – Vloggers all over the country have a chance to win up to P200,000 in cash prizes in the first-ever Cordillera Experience Travel Vlog competition launched by the regional Department of Tourism in Cordillera on Friday, September 09.

The department, during their launching, said the vlog contest is in line with the World Tourism Day celebrated annually on September 27 to foster awareness of the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political, and economic value.

Regional Director of DOT-CAR, Jovita Ganongan underscored that with eased restrictions, it is high time to promote the beauty and diversity of the destinations of the Cordillera region that are comparable worldwide.

“We want people to talk about the cordillerans and endorse it to their sphere of influence, all walks of life. We want them to talk about how they marvel at our natural beauty, savor the food and delicacies, enjoy the activities while traversing our terrain, and learn about our culture and history. We want to show the cordillerans through the eyes and heart of the travelers,” Ganongan added.

Mechanics

The competition, said the DOT-Cordillera, is open to all Philippine residents, aged 18 and above.

Each participant is only allowed to submit one, original, 3 to 5-minute entry. Images and sound must be royalty-free.

Highlighting the “Cordillera Experience,” participating vloggers must feature the sites and culture of at least one of the six provinces and cities in the region including Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, and Baguio City. Featuring two or more provinces or cities is allowed.

The department stressed that content must be respectful of the region's different religions, cultures, and heritage, such that the content must be appropriate for all ages. The use of foul or offensive speech will result in disqualification.

Entries must be in landscape orientation with a video resolution of 1080p (1920 x 1080), and MP4 format. Option to submit a subtitle file in .srt or .sbv format.

All entries must be submitted to dotcarmarketing@gmail.com, with the subject line of CORDILLERA EXPERIENCE TRAVEL VLOG COMPETITION on or before 11:59 PM of September 23, 2022.

Participants must publish their vlog either on their Facebook or YouTube account, using the hashtag #ShootShareYourCordillera.

Criteria for judging

Entries will be judged based on relevance to the theme (40%), originality (15%), creativity (15%), technical quality (15%), and audience impact (15%).

Prizes

Winning participant will receive P200,000 cash prize; P60,000 for second place, P40,000 for third; P30,000 for fourth; and P20,000 for the fifth placer. For more details, check the link: https://bit.ly/ShootShareYourCordillera.
