“Your training prepares you to save lives”- Gov. Tubban to WaSAR graduates

Tabuk City, Kalinga – During the graduation and closing ceremony of the Water Search and Rescue Training, Governor Ferdinand Tubban highlighted the importance of acquiring knowledge and skills through trainings which prepare people to save lives.


Tubban emphasized that life is the most precious possession people ought to protect, and thus government employees and officers dealing with search and rescue operations must be well-equipped.


In his message delivered by his representative, Brent Martinez, this December 3 at the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO), the governor recalled recent tragedies proving the necessities of skills in basic water rescue.

Tubban then encouraged the graduates to take advantage of other trainings and seminars, if given the chance, for them to be prepared for their bigger mission, which is to protect and save lives.


PDRRM Officer Jolanta Baac said that having realized the need to equip the personnel responsible for search and rescue operations, the provincial government unit through the PDRRMO shouldered the training expenses of the 24 out of the 32 graduates who are personnel of the Kalinga Police Provincial Office, Provincial Engineering Office, and PDRRMO.


Commending the personnel for taking the challenge of taking the training, the governor expressed hope for the application of the skills they have acquired not in search operations but in rescue as he values life.


Tubban likewise applauded the trainers from the Bureau of Fire Protection – Kalinga headed by Provincial Fire Director, Superintendent Allan M. Eballar for responding to the training.

The governor assured the support of the provincial government with the programs and activities of KPPO, BFP, and other sectors of the government whose concern is on public safety.


Also present in the event are Police Lieutenant Colonel (PLTCOL) Jacob Dangpason and other officials.
