Tabuk City, Kalinga – The Municipality of Tanudan has maintained a zero crime rate from January to June 2026, reflecting the success of strengthened peace and order initiatives and the active participation of communities in keeping the town safe and peaceful for every iTanudan.

During the Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) and Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC) meeting on June 16, Police Lieutenant Reynald Gallawon, Deputy Chief of Police of the Tanudan Municipal Police Station, reported that no crime incidents had been recorded in the municipality as of June 2026.

Gallawon attributed the achievement to the strong cooperation between the police force, barangay officials, and community members in maintaining peace and order across the municipality.

The police official also reported that 10 unlicensed firearms—comprising four long firearms and six short firearms—were voluntarily surrendered this year. He emphasized that the accomplishment was made possible through the support of barangay officials and revealed that village leaders would be recognized during the next council meeting for their contributions.

In addition, Gallawon reported the arrest of a wanted person in February. With several wanted individuals still at large, he appealed to barangay officials to help encourage them to surrender and face the charges filed against them.

“Sana kung may alam kayo nga aglem-lemmeng dita ayan tayo nga dagitoy wanted person tayo, nu mabalin, dawaten mi nga tumulong kayo kuma nga barangay officials nga makitungtung kanyada ta nu mabalin nga i-surrender yu kadakami ta kitaen tayo nu kasano tayo matulungan isuna… kaysa diay aglemlemmeng da, kanayon da agbutbuteng,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Tanudan Municipal Police Station reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining peace and order in the municipality and expressed hope that the town's zero crime rate will continue in the coming months.

The achievement highlights the importance of strong community partnerships, responsible leadership, and proactive law enforcement efforts in ensuring a safe and secure environment for all residents of Tanudan.
