1 dead, 2 injured as dump truck plunges down hillside in Ilagan City


Ilagan City, Isabela – One individual died while two others were injured when a dump truck they were riding went out of control and plunged down a hillside along the provincial road in Sindun Bayabo village in Ilagan City, Isabela earlier today, March 07, 2023.


The Isuzu dump truck driven by Ariel Fernandez, 32, from Song-song, Gamu, Isabela was heading toward Ilagan-Divilacan Road Project when he lost control of the steering wheel. The truck ended up going down the hillside, the police reported.

Fernandez, along with Jason Dacuba and Jayson Hernandez, both from San Andres, Ilagan City, sustained wounds on the different parts of their body.


They were all rushed by the responding personnel of DART 831 to Governor Faustino N. Dy Memorial Hospital for immediate medication. Unfortunately, Hernandez was declared dead on arrival.


Authorities reiterated anew their reminder among all motorists to practice safe driving at all times to prevent such accident.
