TUBA, Benguet — Two motorcycle riders, including a minor, died after their motorcycles collided with a Toyota Innova at the Badiwan viaduct along Marcos Highway in Barangay Poblacion, Tuba, Benguet, on Thursday evening, October 15.

The Tuba Municipal Police Station said the Innova, driven by a 23-year-old resident of Magsaysay, Baguio City, was traveling toward Baguio while the two riders were heading to La Union when the collision occurred.

Police said the Innova attempted to overtake a pickup truck when it collided with the two oncoming motorcycles.

Despite wearing helmets, both riders sustained fatal injuries and later died at the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center.

Authorities withheld the victims’ identities for privacy and legal reasons. The attending physician reportedly found no signs of intoxication in the victims.

The family of one of the victims reportedly filed a complaint against the Innova driver, who was released on bail pending investigation.

Police reminded motorists to obey traffic signs, avoid risky overtaking maneuvers and conduct regular BLOWBAGETS checks before traveling.
