RIZAL, Kalinga — Three men were injured in a head-on collision involving two motorcycles along Nagbitayan Road in Babalag East, Rizal, Kalinga, on Friday afternoon, October 16, 2026.

The Rizal Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) responded to the accident at around 1:25 p.m., more than an hour after it rushed three other road accident victims to the hospital following a separate tricycle accident in Liwan West.

The three motorcycle crash victims, who were all conscious and responsive, received first aid at the scene before being transported to Juan M. Duyan Memorial District Hospital for further medical treatment.

Two of the victims were residents of Abut, Quezon, Isabela. The 47-year-old motorcycle driver sustained abrasions on his left cheek and fingers and complained of back pain, while his 46-year-old passenger suffered abrasions on his right elbow and left knee and a laceration on his upper lip.

The third victim, a 65-year-old resident of San Pascual, Rizal, sustained a laceration on his chin, abrasions on his left knee and a contusion on his right leg.

At around noon on the same day, the MDRRMO also transported three young men, aged 26, 18 and 15, all residents of Babalag East, to the same hospital after the tricycle they were riding in figured in an accident in Liwan West.

The circumstances surrounding the two accidents were not provided in the report.
