2 riders die in fatal motorcycle crash in Cagayan

Lasam, Cagayan – Two intoxicated riders, who were not wearing helmets, were involved in a motorcycle crash around 10:30 p.m. on Monday, March 4, in Lasam, Cagayan, resulting in their early demise.

One of the riders was declared dead on arrival at the hospital, while another succumbed to his injuries while being treated in the same medical facility.

In the investigation conducted by Lasam police, it was revealed that while on the curved part of the provincial road in Barangay Gabun, Edmar Tugas, 31, navigated into the opposite lane, unaware that there was an oncoming motorcycle.

The oncoming motorcycle, driven by one of the fatalities identified as Nordel John Jove, a resident of Allacapan, did not have a headlight, the police report further disclosed.

With the impact of the collision, the riders suffered severe head injuries as a result of being thrown from the motorcycle.

Jove also had a back rider at that time, named Edgar Paet. He is currently at the hospital receiving medical treatment.
