2 Tabuk Police awarded Best Junior Police Officers for Operations in CAR

Tabuk City, Kalinga — Two police officers in Tabuk City were recognized as Best Junior Police Officers in the entire Cordillera for their exemplary and outstanding performance in the field of operations.

The two received their accolades at Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad on October 24, 2022, during the 121st Police Service Anniversary Celebration.


Awardees are Police Lieutenant Ruben Balanoy who was conferred the ‘Best Junior Police Commissioned Officer for Operations’ and Police Staff Sergeant Shanybell Banson as the ‘Best Junior Police Non-Commissioned Officer’.


Balanoy is the Chief of the Tabuk City Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) and the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) – Tabuk, while Banson is a DEU operative.

Balanoy and Banson earned the respective awards due to their hard work that resulted in a number of successful police operations in the city from April 2021 to March 2022.


Among these include the arrest of 43 individuals for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 through buy-bust, implementation of search warrants, checkpoints, and police response operations.


Likewise, their efforts led to the arrest of 24 Top Most Wanted Persons in the City and Province and 29 other wanted individuals.
