TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Bayle Baker Tabuk has withdrawn a bread product linked to reports of suspected food poisoning and is reviewing its food safety procedures to address concerns as authorities investigate the reported incident.

In a public statement posted on its official Facebook page on October 22, the bakery apologized for the concern and inconvenience the reports may have caused customers and the public. It also said it was implementing measures to strengthen food safety practices and help prevent a similar incident.

“In response to the circulating reports concerning a suspected food poisoning incident allegedly linked to one of our bread products, Bayle Baker would like to address the matter and extend our sincere apologies to everyone affected,” the bakery said.

The establishment said the reported incident occurred the previous week and involved a specific bread product, which it did not identify in its statement. It also expressed its commitment to cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

The bakery’s withdrawal of the affected product and review of its procedures are among the actions it has publicly disclosed in response to the reports. However, the statement did not provide details on the product’s distribution, the results of any laboratory examination, or the suspected cause of the reported illnesses.

The issue gained attention after a message circulated on social media warning the public against buying Bayle Baker products while the investigation was ongoing.

The sender, who claimed to have been hospitalized, said the bread had been served as snacks during a seminar in Davidson on Tuesday and alleged that nine people had been admitted to a hospital.

The claims, however, have yet to be independently confirmed. The circulating message alone does not establish that the bread caused the reported illnesses or that all nine alleged hospital admissions were connected to the same product.

As of the bakery’s October 22 statement, no specific contaminant or confirmed cause of illness had been identified in the information provided.

The City Health Office and Provincial Health Office were mentioned in the circulating message as investigating the incident. Their official findings, including any laboratory results and confirmation of the number of affected individuals, remain important in determining what happened.

Bayle Baker’s response comes as the reported incident raises questions about food handling, storage and safety. The outcome of the investigation will help establish whether the bread was responsible and what further measures may be necessary.

The public is advised to follow verified advisories from health authorities and await official findings as the investigation proceeds.
