22-yr.-old back rider from Isabela killed in multi-vehicle collision

Isabela, Philippines – A 22-year-old woman died in a road crash involving three vehicles in Barangay Upi, Gamu, Isabela.


The vehicles include a pick-up, a motorcycle, and a tricycle.


The police investigation, as cited by XFM Santiago on April 24, disclosed that the three were traversing the road in Upi but they were heading in different directions.

The pick-up driven by Rodolfo Matutino, 51, was going north with 5 passengers; the motorcycle driven by Sheriemae Herrera, 24, with Angelica Tamayo as the back rider was heading south; and the tricycle driven by Dante Guittu was going in the direction of Ilagan.


The collision happened when the tricycle was in the process of turning left to head towards Ilagan when it was allegedly hit by the incoming pick-up. The impact sent the tricycle crashing against the motorcycle.


All the involved individuals were rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately, Tamayo, the back rider was later pronounced dead.
