250 ALS learners in Apayao showcased talents and skills during Festival of Talents

Flora, Apayao – About 250 Alternative Learning System (ALS) learners in Apayao showcased their talents and skills during the Festival of Talents on December 7-8, 2023 in Flora, Apayao.

The festival aimed to encourage the learners to perform, compete, and showcase their abilities as a means of developing a literacy culture.


It was participated by ALS students who hailed from the different municipalities of the province.


In said event, the participants competed in various competitions, which were officiated by the Department of Education - Apayao.


These include singing contests, dance contests, poster and slogan making, essay writing, quiz bee, spelling bee, basic encoding, basket weaving, and bazaar exhibits, all carried out alongside their respective ALS teachers.


In his speech during the event’s opening program, Municipal Mayor Rodolfo Juan Sr. welcomed the attendees while expressing his commitment to the ALS Program.


As his support, the mayor will be providing one unit of motorcycle which will be used by the ALS teachers to reach out to their students.


Additionally, 200 square meters of lot located at the old market area will be allocated for the ALS office, the Apayao Provincial Public Information Office reported.
