Pamplona, Cagayan – The body of a 26-year-old man was found bathing in his own blood in an irrigation canal in Barangay Sta. Cruz Pamplona, Cagayan early morning of Monday, November 28, 2022.
In the investigation by the Pamplona Police Station, it was known that the victim and the two suspects were drinking before the incident happened.
After their drinking session in the victim’s house, the 26-year-old went to sleep in his room.
The two suspects then followed the victim in his bed and stabbed him 28 times.
After committing the heinous crime, the suspects threw the victim’s body in the irrigation canal near the crime scene with the use of multicab vehicle to disguise the killing as if it was a car accident.
Police disclosed that after discovering the victim’s body, they immediately brought him to the Far North Luzon General Hospital and Training Center but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
PCpl Aian-Jay Gamayon, investigator of the incident, identified the victim as John Claire Dela Cruz, 26, a resident of Barangay Tabbugan, Claveria, Cagayan but currently staying in Barangay Sta. Cruz.
After being informed of the incident, police immediately conducted a follow-up operation, which resulted in the apprehension of the two suspects.
The unnamed suspects are currently under the custody of the Pamplona Police Station and are under thorough investigation, while the relevant case against them is being prepared.
