Echague, Isabela - A rider died while his pillion passenger was injured after their motorcycle crashed against a car over the weekend in Echague, Isabela.
The fatality was identified as Cristito Resane, 28, while the injured back rider was Nico Manguba, 39. They are both residents of Luna, Isabela.
A police report obtained by local media disclosed that the two were on the road of Barangay San Miguel on Sunday, December 17, when they encountered the tragic accident.
While travelling the said road, Resane, who was driving the motorcycle, crashed against an Isuzu Crosswind which was moving on the opposite side.
As claimed by the car driver, Richard Fernandez, Resane suddenly encroached his lane, and thus the collision.
Due to the impact of the crash, the two riders were thrown off from their vehicle and sustained severe injuries.
They were rushed to a hospital in the municipality by the responding authorities, but Resane was unfortunately declared dead on arrival by the attending physician. Manguba, meantime, survived the tragedy and is now in stable condition.
The Isuzu driver, meanwhile, is now in police custody for further investigation and for filling of possible cases against him.
