3 Division Heads withdrew support to Mayor Estrañero

Updated: Apr 30, 2022

Tabuk City, Kalinga – In a recent post, the City Information Communication Technology Office (CICTO) Head of Tabuk City LGU Nathaniel Dalanao claimed three offices have declared withdrawal of support to Mayor Darwin Estrañero but given freedom to their staff to vote whoever they like.

The three offices including the CICT are Peace Order and Safety Office (POSO) and City Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office.

Estrañero, accused of alleged blatant corruption and abuse of power, is seeking a re-election this May 9, 2022.

When Guru Press Cordillera asked Dalanao about the move of the three offices, he mentioned that their withdrawal of support was decided even before the campaign caravan of the mayor was held earlier in April. He added that their main reason is due to what they claimed as massive corruption happening in the City LGU of Tabuk under the present administration.

In a separate text message conversation with CDRRMO officer Christian Luyaben, he confirmed that his office no longer has confidence in the administration of the mayor and that he shares the same sentiments as Dalanao. The POSO division head is yet to give his statement.

Earlier this week, an audio recording of supposed conversation between Mayor Estrañero and an employee of CICTO was leaked and went viral. In the conversation, the mayor was asking for the password of the official page of Tabuk City LGU and talking about the posted Audit Observation Memorandum of the Commission on Audit about issues involving the LGU.

Here is a link of the audio that was added with the screenshot of photos of a COA AOM about Tabuk City LGU:
