30-yr-old catering worker found dead, hanging inside family store in Isabela

Echague, Isabela – A 30-year-old man was declared dead on arrival at a hospital after he was found hanging inside their family-owned sari-sari store in Echague, Isabela, on Saturday evening, May 30, 2026.

The victim, identified only by the pseudonym "Echo" to protect his identity, was employed as a catering staff member.

Initial police investigation revealed that Echo’s father went to their sari-sari store at around 6:00 p.m. that day and noticed that it was closed.

Concerned, he proceeded to check the back portion of the store, where he discovered his son hanging.

The father immediately sought help from neighbors, who assisted in bringing the victim down.

Police officers, who were alerted through the E911 Emergency Hotline, arrived at the scene shortly afterward and rushed the 30-year-old to a nearby hospital.

Despite efforts to save him, the attending physician declared the victim dead on arrival.

During the investigation, the father told police that he had noticed changes in his son's behavior in recent days. According to him, the victim often preferred to be alone and became easily irritated prior to the incident.

As of this writing, authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the case.
