MUNTINLUPA CITY — A 33-year-old motorcycle mechanic from Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, was arrested in Muntinlupa City on October 17 over a case involving reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, slight physical injury and damage to property, as well as a separate drug charge.

The suspect, identified only by the alias “Ed,” was arrested by a joint police team at Saguibas Basketball Court along San Guillermo Street in Barangay Putatan, Muntinlupa City, according to the Isabela Police Provincial Office (IPPO).

The operation involved personnel from the Warrant and Subpoena Unit of the Alabang Sub-Station, other Alabang police personnel, the Tuguegarao Component City Police Station, and the Ilagan Component City Police Station.

Police said an arrest warrant issued on July 6, 2026, covered the case of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, slight physical injury and damage to property, with a recommended bail of ₱60,000.

The suspect was also subject to a bench warrant issued on March 4, 2026, for an alleged violation of Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, with no recommended bail.

A bench warrant is a court order directing the arrest of a person, commonly issued when someone fails to appear in court as required or does not comply with a court order. However, the police report did not specify the reason the court issued the bench warrant against the suspect.

The suspect is currently under the custody of the Custodial Facility Unit of the Muntinlupa Police Station pending transfer to the court that issued the warrants. The arrest warrant was also recorded in the E-Warrant System.

IPPO provincial director Police Colonel Manuel Bayani Bringas said the police would continue intensifying operations against wanted persons to ensure that individuals facing criminal charges are brought before the proper judicial authorities.

He also emphasized the importance of coordination and information-sharing among police units in strengthening law enforcement and maintaining peace and order in communities.
