4 PMMA students from Kalinga graduated with honors



Tabuk City, Kalinga – Four marine students from Kalinga finished their schooling and training at the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy with honors on July 7, 2022.


These four graduates are among those who stood out from the 114 graduates of the PMMA Masidlayag Class of 2022.


Ensign Daisy Rose Gubia-on who is a native of Pangol, Tanudan graduated as top 1 of her class in Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation.

She also received the Vice President Saber award, Discipline Training, Leadership Training, and the Best in Thesis award.


Another yKalinga is Ensign Blessy Abaggoy from Bulo, Tabuk City who took Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering. She is the top 5 of her class.


Ensign Gearald Kris Dawagan of Agbannawag, Tabuk City, meantime, is top 7 in BS Marine Engineering. He is also a recipient of the Philippine Coast Guard Saber award.


Ensign Zerakaye Suwan Ga-oy of Ipil, Tabuk City graduated as the top 9 of BS Marine Transportation.

Other awardees


Another four from Kalinga finished their journey at PMMA with awards.


Among the awardees include Ensign Erickson Pangsiw of Tabuk City, Kalinga conferred with Leadership Training and Discipline Training awards.


Ensign Shakely Van Morales of Dilag, Tabuk City graduated with the Discipline Training and Best in Research award. Ensign Jon Martin Torres from Tabuk City received the Leadership Training award, while Ensign Gideon Bang-as from Tinglayan was awarded with the Leadership Training and Athlete of the Year.
