5,000 delegates arrive in Baguio City for CARAA Meet, Regn'l Academic Fest

Baguio City, Philippines – More than 5,000 students coming from the different cities and provinces in the Cordillera arrived in Baguio City for the regional sports and academic festival from April 29 – May 1, 2023.

The delegates started arriving this April 27 at the respective schools where they will be staying during the 2023 Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association (CARAA) meet and the 2023 Regional Academic Festival.


Philippine Information Agency Cordillera reported that there are around 3,328 delegates for the CARAA meet while around 2,145 will be participating in the academic festival.


The students together with their coaches had their interview with the Regional Screening and Accreditation Committee for verification of documents on April 28.


Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong, in a statement, conveyed that the regional athletic meet and the academic festival provide an avenue for the youth to showcase their talents and skills.


“I hope that this event will inspire our youth to pursue their passions, strive for excellence, and become responsible citizens who contribute to the progress and development of our community,” the mayor expressed, wishing the delegates a successful and inspiring event.
