Updated: Apr 21, 2021

Tanudan, Kalinga─As part of the vaccination roll-out in the country, over 75 frontliners from this town received their first dose of the CoVid-19 vaccine.

Mayor Jaedicke Ross Dagadag expressed that said vaccination program would greatly contribute to the ongoing battle against the CoViD-19 pandemic starting with the protection of their health workers so they will have more confidence to do their duties which is vital in this fight.

Meanwhile, Geraldine Wacdagan of the Municipal Health Office said that through the intensive and thorough Information, Education and Communication campaign among the frontliners, they were able to convince them to participate in the inoculation.

Last March 23, 20 individuals were vaccinated with Astrazeneca where, 8 are from Tanudan Municipal Hospital (TMH) and 12 from Rural Health Unit (RHU).

For the Sinovac vaccine, 8 police personnel, 7 from RHU, 2 from Municipal Social Welfare and Development, 1 from TMH, and 37 Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERTs) including the Barangay Health Workers and Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) received the jab on April 8.

Said vaccination program is through the “RESBAKUNA: Kasangga ng Bida” program of the Department of Health (DOH) which is part of the 600,000 doses donated by the Chinese government to the country.
