TABUK CITY, Kalinga — Agriculture, forestry and fishing led Kalinga’s fastest-growing industries in 2025 with an 18.1% increase, followed by education at 11% and human health and social work activities at 10.7%, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-Kalinga.

The three industries posted the highest growth rates as Kalinga’s overall economy expanded by 4.9%, reaching an estimated P31.40 billion Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2025.

The figures were presented by PSA-Kalinga Chief Statistical Specialist Maribel Dalayday during the Provincial Product Accounts (PPA) Dissemination Forum held at the Provincial Capitol in Bulanao on September 29.

Kalinga’s 4.9% economic growth in 2025 was higher than the 4.1% recorded in 2024.

Meanwhile, the province’s per capita GDP increased by 3.5% to an estimated P127,711 in 2025.

Dalayday emphasized that the figures should not be viewed merely as economic statistics but as data that can guide government planning and programs for the people of Kalinga.

“These data belong to Kalinga, and they exist to serve the iKalingas,” she said.

PSA-Cordillera Regional Director Villafe Alibuyog said the presentation of Kalinga’s 2025 economic performance provides an opportunity to examine the province’s economic condition and reflect on the challenges experienced by its communities in recent years.
