Rizal, Kalinga - Barangay Babalag West in Rizal on lockdown for contact tracing effective today September 5, 2021 until further notice.

This came after the genomic testing of a COVID-19 patient residing in the said barangay turned out to be a Delta strain.

"The MIATF of Rizal had an emergency meeting earlier in the afternoon and have drafted an EO putting on lockdown the barangay of Babalag West, starting immediately (today)," informed Kalinga Provincial Health Officer Ed Tandingan.

The patient, a 34-year-old female, has tested positive for coronavirus disease on August 8, 2021. She has undergone quarantine and is now recovered.

Rizal's Municipal Health Officer Dr. Brendalyn Sebastian said "she is currently okay and asymptomatic now".

The official order, according to a source, shall follow shortly after the document has been signed by the local chief executive of the municipality.
