Baguio City rules 2023 Regional Academic Festival


Tabuk City, Kalinga – Baguio City delegates collected the highest number of points in the 2023 Regional Academic Festival(RAF) held in Baguio City from April 29 – May 1.


RAF is divided into two events, the Regional Festival of Talents (RFOT) and the Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC).

RFOT showcases the learners’ skills and talents in various disciplines such as quiz bee, debate, storytelling, folk dance, food processing, and technical drawing, among others.


The RSPC, on the other hand, is a competition for student journalists.


Having obtained a total points of 800 – 287 for RFOT and 513 for RSPC, the Baguio City delegation was announced by the Department of Education Cordillera through its Facebook page as the winner for this year’s RAF.


Coming second is Benguet with a total of 705 points – 251.5, RFOT, and 453.5, RSPC.

Abra got the third spot with 502 overall points, followed by Tabuk City in 4th place with 482.


Mountain Province got the 5th highest overall score with 474; followed by Apayao with 444; then Kalinga with 367; and Ifugao with 313 overall points.


Group and individual winners in this year’s Regional Academic Festival will be representing the Cordillera region at the national level which is set to be held in Cagayan De Oro City on July 17 – 21, 2023.
