‘Budol budol’ man turned over to Tabuk Police, charged with Estafa

Tabuk City, Kalinga – A case of Estafa was filed against a man who allegedly swindled individuals in Tabuk City this February 5 and 6, according to the Tabuk City Police Station.


The suspect Raymond Calpo who is a resident of Paracelis was first reported to the police after luring a victim on February 5 to pay P23,000 for a supposed cheaper construction materials he was selling.

However, when they were about to get the materials, the suspect ran away with the money.


A day after the complaint was lodged at Tabuk City Police Station, another complainant appeared at their office around 9:00 AM on February 6, to report the same suspect who allegedly went to her store offering piglets at a lower price.

The victim said Calpo made her believe that he was in dire need of money because his sibling was in the hospital.


Moved by the suspect, the victim then gave P18,350 as partial payment for the 8 heads of piglets which the suspect said he got from Cudal, Tabuk City.


However, just before the buyer was to get the purchased piglets, the suspect suddenly sped off towards Paracelis, Mt. Province.

The suspect’s arrest


On February 6, the Paracelis Municipal Police Station was able to bring Calpo to their custody. They identified the suspect's whereabouts with their intelligence personnel after they were alarmed by the post made by Station 1 Radio about the victim who was swindled with P23,000.


After coordinating with Tabuk City Police, the suspect was brought to the Tabuk City Police Station on February 6.


The suspect was later charged with Estafa before the Tabuk City Prosecution Office.
