Cagayan logs 35 COVID-19 death on Tuesday, a new single-day record


Cagayan, Philippines – Cagayan logged 35 deaths due to the Coronavirus on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, a new single day record in the province since the pandemic hit the country last year.


This, according to Cagayan Provincial Information Office, is the second time this month that the province recorded the highest number of Covid-19 related deaths

Of the 35 Covid-19 related deaths, 15 are from the province’s epicenter of the virus, Tuguegarao City, which is also the highest single day record of Covid death in said city.


“Sa loob lamang ng pitong araw ay agad na umakyat sa 44 ang nasawi sa virus sa naturang lungsod,” Cagayan PIO added.

The 20 remaining deaths are from Baggao (4), Allacapan (3), Alcala (3), Tuao (2), Appari (1), Ballesteros (1), Buguey (1), Gattaran (1), Solana (1), Sta. Ana (1), Sta. Theresita (1) and Sto. Nino (1).


On the same day, 460 individuals were tested positive with the virus of which 57 are from Tuguegarao City, 49 from Alcala; 44 each from Aparri and Gonzaga; 34 each from Baggao and Claveria; 30 from Sta. Teresita, 24 from Pamplona and 23 from Sta. Praxedes town.

As of this writing, the province record 4,556 active covid-19 cases and 409 new recoveries.

Covid-19 related death in total is now at 1,067 while those individuals recovered from the virus is 28,614.


Meantime, home quarantined Covid-19 patients, though not advisable, Cagayan PIO reports is now at 462.
