Children’s Month in Pasil highlights youngsters’ talents, mental health awareness

Pasil, Kalinga - Talents and health of youngsters are among the primary highlights in Pasil’s celebration of Children’s Month 2022 held at the Municipal Covered Court in Amdalao, Guina-ang on Nov. 22.


Anchored on the theme, “Kalusugan, Kaisipan at Kapakanan ng Bawat Bata Ating Tutukan,” the event promoted children’s well-being and fostered their potentials to thrive.


The municipal-wide celebration was graced by the program’s proponent Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer Segundina Gumabay, Administrator Milagros Batalao representing Mayor Alfredo “Chao-ig” Malannag Jr., Chairperson on Social Welfare Ronaldo Gumabay, Co-chair on Health Eugene Batalao, among other personnel.

Inspirational messages and intermissions were delivered and performed in the morning of said day. Contest proper was subsequently conducted as a means of showcasing the talents and skills of the children of Pasil.


As a result, winners in each contested activities were awarded.


Winners of Contested Activities


In the solo song competition, the contestant of Dangtalan Day Care Center won and received a P1,200 cash prize. Pugong Day Care Center came second with a P1,000 cash incentive while the third placer from Guina-ang Day Care Center got P800.


As for the cultural contest, Dalupa Day Care Center was proclaimed the winner. Landing in the second spot was Bagtayan Day Care Center, and Pugong Day Care Center for the third place. The top three received P1,200, P1,000, and P800, respectively.

Meanwhile, Dangtalan Elementary School contestant achieved the first place in the poster-making category. Representatives of Pugong Elementary School came second, and Dalupa Elementary School landed third. The same amounts of cash prizes were provided to the winners.


Being the only entry in the conceptualized advocacy materials for Kalinga children, the Central Pasil National Highschool was given P1,500 prize as the default winner.


The municipal local government unit assured its overall support for programs and activities aimed at nurturing the youth as it recognizes their crucial role in society as a whole.
