Cordilleran international ultra-racer wins bronze in Spartan Ultra World Championship

Baguio City, Philippines – Proving once again that she’s got the endurance and the strength to navigate a grueling trail and obstacle course, Cordilleran Ultra-racer, Sandi Menchi has clinched another medal from her latest race in France.

 

Sandi, who hails from Baguio City and is known as the first Asian medalist in the Spartan World Championships, participated in the Spartan Ultra World Championship 2025, staged in Morzine Avoriaz, France, on July 4.

The race covered a 50-kilometer course with 60 obstacles in the picturesque mountains of Morzine, testing the participants’ endurance, strength, and mental fortitude. The 3038m elevation competition which is also considered one of the toughest challenges in the sport gathered more than 1,200 participants from all over the world.

 

Bringing with her grit and willpower, Sandi finished the race at 8:34:22, securing the bronze medal. She placed behind Leslie Lejeune of France and Andrea Berquez of the UK, who won gold and silver, respectively.

 

The Philippine Sports Commission, meanwhile, congratulated Sandi for adding another feather to her cap and pride to the country.
