CVMC records lowest active Covid19 cases since surge

Updated: Jan 9, 2022

Tuguegarao City, Philippines – The Cagayan Valley Medical Center (CVMC) recorded only 17 active COVID-19 patients currently in admission, the lowest recorded data as the Covid-19 pandemic continues to wind down in Cagayan Valley.

CVMC Chief Dr. Glenn Mathew Baggao through Bombo Radyo Tuguegarao, said that 15 of the active COVID-19 patients are from Cagayan while two are from Isabela.

With the decrease in Covid-19 transmission due to the high vaccination rate, Baggao said there are even days when they record zero COVID-19 patient admissions.

Baggao also said that health workers and nursing aides are now able to return to their regular assignments in the Out-Patient Department as COVID-19 admissions continue to decrease.

The CVMC molecular laboratory can also quickly release results of taken samples as test rates per day continue to decrease.

While the hospital keeps accepting COVID-19 patients, Baggao said the number of beds for Covid-19 has been reduced to 100 and is likely to be reduced further in the next few days.

He said non-COVID-19 patients can come for their medical and follow-up check-ups at the Out-Patient Department to take advantage of the low COVID-19 admissions.

Meantime, CVMC continues with its vaccination effort among the city's adult population and for ages 12 to 17.
