Bontoc, Mountain Province – The Department of Health- Cordillera lauded the Municipality of Bontoc for attaining its target individuals to be vaccinated during the three-day national vaccination drive held from November 29 to Dec. 1, 2021.

Dr. Diga Kay Gomez, Municipal Health Officer, said they targeted to vaccinate 518 individuals daily on the three-day “Bayanihan, Bakunahan National COVID-19 Vaccination Days” but they were able to surpass said target.

On December 1, Bontoc was able to inoculate at least 515 individuals on the first day, 551 were inoculated on the second day and 660 on the third day, which sums up to 1,726 jabs during the three- day event.

Municipality of Bontoc, in a press release, said that the high number of individuals vaccinated is attributed to the efforts of the vaccination teams who went around the different barangays to inoculate those who were not able to travel to the identified vaccination site.

Gomez expressed her profound gratitude to all the workforce, volunteers and her team for their hard work that led to ‘the successful, fast, orderly, and peaceful national vaccination days in the capital town.’

Bontoc LGU likewise thanks its active partners for the successful implementation of said activity, like the Department of Health (DOH), Bontoc Philippine National Police (PNP), Mountain Province State Polytechnic College (MPSPC) through its College of Nursing and other stakeholders.

Bontoc Mayor Franklin Odsey also expressed his happiness over the public positive response and willingness to get immunized. He encourages those who are not yet vaccinated to avail of the same for their protection and for those people around them.
