Drunk man kills truck driver following heated argument

Pilar, Abra – The suspect in the killing of a young truck driver in Maliplipit, Pilar, Abra on Tuesday, July 18, is now the subject of a manhunt operation launched by authorities.

The suspect named by Pilar police as Jun Daria, a resident of Quimloong, Bucay, shot 21-year-old Jelex Tapia, single, resulting in the latter's death, 10 PM of said date.

The victim is a resident of the area but a native of Gattaran, Cagayan.

Investigation revealed that the two had a heated argument while having a drinking spree with their companions at the residence of a certain Willy Cabanting.

It was then that Daria pulled out his caliber 45 and shot Tapia on his head.

The suspect fled from the scene right away.

Police who were called to the scene found the victim lying on the floor and bathing in his own blood.

Police likewise recovered at the crime scene the gun used in the killing.

Meantime, the victim’s family took to social media their plea for the public to help them give justice on the death of Tapia by informing authorities of the whereabouts of the suspect. The post likewise contained the photo of the suspect.

“Kung sino man po [ang] makakita o nakakakilala sa hayop na to, kung pwede ipagbigay alam niyo po kaagad parang tulong nyo na sa pamilya namin ..itong tao po na to ang pumatay sa pinsan ko na si Jelex Tapia nung July 18, 2023 lang at [ngayon] ay nagtatago po sya,” the post reads.
