DTI-CAR awards top 3 KMME-MME 2022 Batch 1 graduates to Baguio, Mt. Province, Ifugao

Tabuk City, Kalinga - The Department of Trade and Industry of Cordillera (DTI-CAR) awarded the top 3 entrepreneurs who participated in the KMME-MME 2022 Batch 1 after being assessed as having the best Business Improvement Plan (BIP) at the regional level.


The awarding was done on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, with all the other graduates in other provinces present via a virtual ceremony.


The top three entrepreneurs were chosen by the panelists based on the application of their learning in the areas of Market Opportunity, Competitive Advantage, Management Capability, Financial Understanding, Innovation, and Business Sustainability.

Other criteria include the quality of the BIP and their performance in presenting it.

The first batch composing 49 entrepreneurs underwent a 10-module mentorship program from April 5 to August 11 this year where they were taught how to make their own business viable and sustainable, leading them to become competitive entrepreneurs.


Michiko Liquete from Baguio got 1st place for the best in BIP with 47 points over 50. Jahzeel Queen Ban-ang from Mountain Province was 2nd place with 43. 67 points, and Rhoen Mae Dornagon from Ifugao was in third place with 43.25 points.


The winners received certificates and a plaque of recognition as well as a livelihood kit of their choice.

Liquete, the first placer, relayed that her gratefulness to the program and the people who helped her learn more for her business.


“Marami po akong natutunan sa DTI-KMME na ini-implement ko na po sa kompanya naming. Napalaking tulong po for start-up businesses like us,” she expressed.


Kapatid Mentor Me-Money Market Encounter (KMME-MME) program is an initiative of the DTI and the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship (PCE) to help the country’s micro and small enterprises (MSMEs) through coaching and mentoring approach to MSEs on different aspects of business operations.
