Tabuk City, Kalinga –Department of Trade and Industry’s Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay program will be providing aid to forty micro-enterprise owners in the Municipality of Tinglayan which is Php 8,000-worth livelihood kits.

This shall be done next month, according to Larae Lactao, municipal information officer of LGU Tinglayan, adding that eight out of the 20 barangays in the municipality were chosen to receive said assistance.

These are barangays Poblacion, Old Tinglayan, Tulgao East, Tulgao West, Butbut Proper, Loccong and Dananao, which were selected as they have not received any assistance from the agency yet. The reason for the limited number is due to the fact that only 8 barangay slots were alloted for Tinglayan this year.

“Every year ket adda ti slots nga mait-ited, tatta nga year ket 8 slots ket dagidiay barangays nga han nga napili idi last ken han pay natulungan, isu da ti maikkan tatta,” Lactao said.

Target recipients of the Negosyo Serbisyo Program

Target beneficiaries for the program are those involved in the weaving industry, manufacturing Industry, processing industry (processed food such as chili sauce, fruit chips, etc.), single mother-entrepreneurs, persons with disability-entrepreneurs and owners of long-established sari-sari stores with business permit.

Five recipients from each barangay will be selected with the help of barangay local government units.

Visitations shall be done by the agency starting first week of March to assess individuals included in the list if they are eligible to avail said program.

Chosen beneficiaries will then undergo seminar on management of their business and marketing strategies in selling their products.

“Dagidiay mapili, maseminar dan tu about ti panaghandle ti business, nu kas-anu da nga ma-market ti product da tapnun ma-encourage ti panagbusiness iti barangay ken customer service excellence,” Lactao said.
