Dupligan Checkpoint in Tanudan NOW a Free WiFi Site

Tanudan, Kalinga – Bringing free internet access to more areas in the province, the Department of Information and Technology recently activated the Dupligan Checkpoint as one of the free WiFi sites in the town.

 

The DICT through its Free Wi-fi for All Program aims to bridge digital division by providing the citizens with internet connectivity regardless of their location. As of March 2025, the information and technology department installed nearly 18,000 free WiFi across the country.

 

Additionally, the DICT Cordillera targeted to bring internet access to 1,474 sites in the region for the first quarter of 2025 – 284 of them in Kalinga.

 

Among the latest free WiFi sites activated in Kalinga was the Duplican Checkpoint, according to the DICT Cordillera on April 29, 2025.

 

“The community can once again enjoy free internet for education, responsible entertainment, and communication,” the agency expressed.

 

Tanudan Information Officer designate and Assistant to Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag, John Ryan Awingan, meantime, informed that the other two free WiFi sites in the municipality include the Ammaboy checkpoint and the Municipal Hall in Banagao.

 

Awingan mentioned that Mayor Dagadag shared the vision of the DICT to provide free internet connectivity to the people which is one of the important factors in achieving a more inclusive and connected Philippines and is grateful for the developments in bridging the gap of digital divide.
