Ifugao, Philippines – What was supposed to be a regular routine election inspection turned into a life-saving operation as Kiangan cops, along with the army, came to the aid of a mother in labor on Monday morning, May 12, 2025.

While conducting election-related duties, an inspection team encountered a distressed family from Payawan, Lamut, Ifugao. The team is composed of personnel from Kiangan Municipal Police Station, Provincial Headquarters, and the 54th Infantry Battalion of the 5th Infantry Division.

Kiangan police, in a press release, said the mother, who is already in active labor, was inside a tricycle attempting to reach a medical facility when the team crossed paths with them along the highway in Hucab, Kiangan, Ifugao.

Understanding the urgency of the situation, the team promptly transported a midwife from Bolog to the location of the tricycle.

With their quick response, the mother safely gave birth to a healthy baby girl inside the vehicle.

To further ensure the safety of both the mother and the child, the team ferried them to the Hucab Birthing Clinic, where proper medical assistance was administered.

As of this writing, both the mother and her newborn daughter are reported to be in good condition.
