Tanudan, Kalinga – Excavation and embankment for the improvement of Banneng – Darulog – Bawac Farm-to-Market Road have started, says the Regional Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Project.
With 152.38 million pesos fund allocation, the project is expected to boost the coffee, banana, and rice production in said municipality and some parts of Tabuk City.
Provincial Agriculturist Engr. Domingo Bakilan earlier noted that the FMR measures 6.168 kilometers and 5-meter wide except for Banneng - Gumbowoy which followed the previous four-meter DA standard. The road thickness, he added, will be 8 inches.
A total of 479 households in the area are to benefit from the project completion set on March 20, 2023.
Said FMR, implemented under the DA-PRDP and the Provincial Local Government Unit of Kalinga, shall likewise reduce the post-harvest losses and travel time of the farmer-recipients.
